Times of refreshing.......

The rest of the conference was truly inspired. People were getting healed, delivered of demonic opression and getting new focus for their spiritual walk. John Crowder is annointed with unconventional spiritual weapons for this time in history . www.thenewmistics.org .

We got to visit with our friends Paul and Marilyn Hueper before we left Seattle. The prayed an awesome prayer over us and shoo ba......away we went.

In Peru now......
As the plane was landing in Lima, both Jennie and I were praying and the Lord spoke to each of us about the Light increasing in Peru. Jesus is the light and as we lift up his name, praise him and testify of his goodness, He actually gets brighter. It is like our praises are an amplfier or a magnifier of a sort. As we walk in him and alongside him, the places we go get brighter. Forget about the darkness, we have the light!!! The Lord also spoke to Jenson and Miles as we landed. He told Jenson ¨go¨and he told Miles that ¨I love the children of Peru¨. It was a balmy 74 degrees when we landed, what a difference from the 10 below zero that we left!

We were greeted at the airport by Telmo, Javier, Wilma, Juan, and their son. The Love of Jesus was covering us as we met our new Peru family. We checked into a comfortable hotel and had a much needed rest. The next day, we vistited with Javier and Wilma and made plans to visit the orphans, churches, schools etc. Then Javier, Zachary and I went shopping for a few items. Little did we know that Jesus would save a youg boy named Miguel in the market. We both could see a visible change in the boy after he left us. Remember to always have your hook in the water. Better yet, through your whole body in the river and let God do the fishing. Yes......

AND AWAY WE GO...............

It was an amazingly smooth transition from our house to our truck to the airport to the airplane to the rental car to our hotel in Seattle, Wa. Six kids, 5 suitcases, 3 cary-ons. It was a beautiful day for flying.

14 hours after we left our small town of 5,000 we found ourselves tired and hungry. The exit we pulled at was right out of a scene of "Cops". It looked deserted and all the stores had bars on the windows. We pulled into the "Happy Teriaki" and ordered take out. We got out of there quickly as to not jepordize "the mission". We all agreed it was the best sesame chicken we had ever eaten.

The next morning the Lord quickened my spirit that some of the best spiritual food comes in times of trying situations. We must remember, that our testings (and our life for that matter), are but for a moment.

We met up with our friends John and Lilly Crowder, Jason Phillips and Jerame Shaba. Good Prayer times.......

Jason's ministry www.revivaltown.org was hosting an On Earth As It Is In Heaven conference. They welcomed us to minister at the alter to the hundred or so people that responded to the message of purity unto the Lord. Many believers experienced God in a new way that night. It is a true statement that the Lords kindness leads us to repentance.

In the beginning....

Hess Mission to Peru
2 days before we left, I had to explain to my children that dad is a bit like a computer. When he has too many files open he can lock up......

We had a wonderful send off by our home church Refuge. It felt like a spiritual "sticky bun" warm, sweet and sticky. Close to 400 toys and hundreds of dollars were given by the body of Christ to bless the little children in Peru. People have been dropping in all week and all week long our children have been packing their own toys in a suitcase so they can give them to the street children and orphans. It is wonderful to see the giving heart even in our 4-year old Spencer. Spencer even said last week, I'm not going to sin anymore dad.

From the oldest to the youngest, we have all been praying into this trip. We understand that any lasting ministry comes out of a place of intimacy with the Lord.
