EMERGENCY AT 30,000 FEET!

Losing an engine at 30,000 feet is an experience most would care to do without. There was a loud boom and continous rattling and vibrating on the engine directly outside my window. I knew we would be going down. A lady in the seat behind us began crying and even the stewardess was visibly distress. They prepared all the passengers for an emergency crash landing. The whole time I new there were many angels around the plane. A few times I even laughed, joyful at the prospect of eternal life and the frailty of this one. I felt sadness for the passangers with no Hope. We diverted to Salt Lake City for an emergency, one-engine landing. All went well and we are now back in Alaska, happy to be home. Thank you for your prayers. The trip was wildly beyond our greatest expectations. We are eagerly awaiting the prize that comes with a life devoted to the Master. Are you? Are you ready to meet Him today?

Come Lord Jesus, Come......

THE FINAL DAYS.....

We were able to feed another comunity on the Saturday before we left. Neither Jennie nor I were feeling well, as the saying goes, we had a bicicle in our stomache. (I felt like I had two!) . Our strength was drained but the Lord proved Himself faithful. Javier prayed for strength, restoration, and healing. When time came to preach, I was restored and able to share the gospel and pray for many people. 20-30 people recieved Christ in thier lives. "please don´t be curteous" I said, " only pray the prayer if you feel the presence of Jesus drawing you". Many testified later that they felt blessed and loved by the Lord. We were able to pray for healing for many and several had pain leave their body.

I also was able to witness something that most have never seen. Dave Rios, a fellow missionary here, ate a chicken foot.

If we had to sum up our trip, Jennie and I would have to say that both of us experienced God at a new level. When you are part of His work, you realize it is His work. He literally does everything. We siply position ourselves to be used by Him. Our prayer is that more people would positon themselves to be used by the Lord. Simply because, the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Fire of God, come!

The love of Jesus....

After the team left we spent a few days with Daren, our pastor from Alaska. After a day of rest we went back to the poor and fed over 500 people that night. Many responded to the gospel of the kingdom. I told the crowd "I didn´t come to preach religion, I came to introduce you to Jesus!" Most, if not all, had never heard the gospel. Our banner proclaimed "Jesus is here". 50 or more people prayed with us to give Jesus their life. It is wonderful that Pastor Wilma comes to this community every week and ministers to the children. She can now encourage the new believers there and teach them more of the kingdom. Our vision is to come back and do several 3-night festivals, with free food, bibles for new believers, prayer for healings, baptisms, and even fireworks. Sounds like a party to me...........

For Pastor Darrens last day in Peru we toured the historic areas of Lima, we went into a huge catholic cathedral and marveled at the hundreds of millions of dollars that must have gone into the huge building. Both our hearts literaly ached at knowing the poverty that existed only steps away........

NONSTOP ACTION...........and a wonderful miracle!

The rest of the time in the south involved daily street evangelizm, visiting the orphanages and going into the prisons. Each night was an outreach in the plaza of the city where more than a thousand people would gather. One of the evenings, we were praying for the sick and a woman came who was paralized by a stroke on her left side. She could not lift her arm nor could she feel a pinch on her hand. I grabbed her arm and lifted it up, she screamed in pain. I told her I was sorry but that I felt the Lord wanted me to do it that way. After I prayed, I told her to lift her arm. She was able to lift it completle fine. Then my interpreter Isreal piched her hand again and she let out a wonderful OUCH! Isreal stopped and looked at me and said "that is the first miracle I have ever seen, I was a sceptic but now I believe!" The woman was elated as you would expect and the Lord kept healing and saving people throughout the night. That same night I shared the gospel with 14 youth, after I prayed for them, they stood for over 5 minutes, with their eyes closed, in complete silence. It was incredible to see them in the presence of the Lord to such a degree, they didn´t want to leave! That is how the Lord intends it. We wont be spending eternity looking at our watches wondering when it is over.......

We ministered to a church on the next sunday. The congregation was stirred as our children sang for them. We shared the word and encouraged them to pursue their calling. "God brought you into the church so you can go back out!" It was in the town of Ika, a town known for its witchcraft and the idolitory of darkness. "We can always out love the witchdoctors!" I shared the with them the power of love found in the good samaritan. It is true that the power of Love saves.

We traveled to the town of Chincha where we had the opportunity to go to the prisons and orphanages . The boys sang and danced for the 79 girls in the orpanage. We had also brought stuffed animals for the girls. When we counted to make sure we had enough gifts, we were amazed to find exactly 79 stuffed animals in our bag. We shared a message of hope and love with the girls and blessed each one as the boys gave out the gifts.
