You Know You're in Peru when......

Murderers Weep in Max Security Prison!
We knew the Lord had something big planned when we literally walked right into a maximum security prison, no body search, no metal detector, no questions! Most amazing was how Kelly Bond, our sweet sister from New Zealand, got in; You see, women aren't allowed into the prison on Sundays and not only this, she had no passport, only a flimsy piece of plastic from New Zealand as identification.

We shared with the inmates how Christ has taken our sins out of the way. Col 2:13: He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Many of the man began weeping as we prayed this scripture, and reminded them of their identity in Christ, that their past was not their identity.
Churches reconcile in prison! We also shared about the importance of unity, and the simple love of God that transcends denominations. This broke out into prayers for reconciliation, and the pastors of both bodies in the prison reconciled themselves to one another...WOW...

Inner healing breaks out in Women's wing. After a eating a plate of dirty CIVICHE... (The women slopped the raw fish on our plate with their bare hands, right out of a dirty old bucket).....Sometimes you must eat to be polite...and after eating, We began praying with the women for inner healing and several women were set free. One precious inmate confided in us, "please pray for me, I get out in 2 months and I want to continue to follow the Lord" We invited her to come stay with us to get back on her feet.

Kids Perform Miracle in the Market!!
The look on his face said it all.....He was healed.....A man who for the last year had pain in his right leg, was instantly healed!! When he came to me for healing, I grabbed Spencer and a couple kids that were standing in the crowd with him. I asked the children "Do you believe Jesus wants to heal this man?" "yes" they said, A simple child like prayer and the man began smiling,
houting and praising God. "The Pain is gone!!"
A Dozen receive Christ- Before breakfast!
We hadn't even had coffee yet, it was early and we left our hotel to buy some food for breakfast.....A lady who recognized us from a year earlier called us onto her pile of sweet potatoes and asked for prayer for her pain. Jesus instantly healed her headache and she felt relief in the rest of her body....After this we began to share how many have forgotten about Jesus. "But He hasn't forgotten about you!" we shouted. "Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life" It was obvious these native Peruvians hadn't heard the Gospel before. Some walked right by, but about a dozen or so stood there, transfixed: trans⋅fix
1.to make or hold motionless with amazement, awe, terror, etc.
2.to pierce through with or as if with a pointed weapon; impale.
3.to hold or fasten with or on something that pierces
.

The gaze in their eyes said it all.....They were waiting for this moment, they had found a loving Father. In a country where abuse is rampant, these humble people found grace, forgiveness, compassion, hope, and most of all, unconditional, boundless, unending love. WOW!!!

Giving breaks out in the market!
Never in the history of this ministry has this happened....not one, two, or three, but 5 people gave us gifts in the market, some gave food, others money......It was a sign of an incredible work of God. We were told by long term missionary this never happens! In this situation, we receive the blessings of the people.

10 Orphans Sent Deep into Jungle to Minister!!
We arrived in the mountains just as a team of ORPHANS were going into the jungle to minister to a remote jungle tribe. These orphans call us Uncle and Aunti....We prayed over them, encouraged them and just loved on them. It was their first mission trip. We spent the following week ministering and loving on the children at Casa Luz orphanage.

Farmers embrace gospel in remote Andes Mountains!
"You came as friends first, not to take over. This was what we were waiting for." The power of honor and love was manifested when a farmer and his wife repented and gave their lives to God. We had come to help the locals for a day with their farm work. Javier picked literally a ton of tomatoes, and I was helping level ground for the next crop. (whew!!).
I felt a clear direction from the Holy Spirit to give the farmer my ministry ring. Second only to my wedding ring, the ring I gave him represented my marriage to the Lord. I told him that God had his number and it was just a matter of time before he came to Christ. This simple act opened the door to his heart.

30 children blessed--the poorest of the poor!!
We had the privilege to spend time with some of the poorest children in Ayacucho, Peru. We know these children, Ruth has no dad, and a mother with no arms, Heydi is abandoned, living in daily desperation, hoping she will see her mom. Thank you Dobbs and your wonderful youth group in California who blessed these children more than you know. Stuffed animal, toothbrush, crayons, and kids bible. The children were on the edge of their seats as Jenson and Miles shared stories and encouraged them in their walk with Christ. Miles put on some worship music and encouraged the children to "soak" in the presence of the Lord. WOW!!! It was as though Jesus was in the room. By far, the greatest ministry that day was the 10-15 minutes the children spent in silence as the Lord ministered to them. The testimonies were great; they felt peace, warmth, and the love of God!!!! We will continue working with these children. They love to experience the love of Jesus and love to hear the word of God!! Please pray that the Lord will bring people into their lives to help with their daily needs. Maybe He will have YOU be part. Please contact us if you would like to personally sponsor the destiny of Ruth or Heydi. Sweet little girls, filled with Jesus, but incredibly desperate. 3moose@xyz.net

Church Embraces the Prophetic in Ayacucho...Finally!!
Our last night in Ayacucho we shared at an Assembly of God church. We taught on the importance of Prophecy, Where Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:4 "he who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified." Prophecy is such an incredible gift. I mean, who doesn't want to be encouraged, edified, and comforted. And this by the Father Himself! As believers, we have incredible access to heaven that others don't, and so when Church (i.e. you)brings the voice of Holy Spirit to the market place, people rarely resist. We must bring The Voice to the streets!!

Pregnant women love to Eat!!!
If you don't know by know....Our family is growing!!!! We are all doing well and healthy. Glory be to God. What does this mean for our ministry you may be wondering....this we know for sure...it means one more minister!! We are blessed for sure. Thank you for all your support. We love you all so much. You can bless many when you support this ministry. You give it, they Get it!! Help us minister to the desperate poor in Peru. If you would like to help, or come with us, please email us at 3moose@xyz.net. Also, we need encouragement as well, so please keep praying for us and drop us an email to say Hi as well. We have been enjoying our time here, seeing first hand the power of the Love of God.

BREAK THROUGH!!
It is as though we have left the atmosphere of the Earth and have found weightlessness!!!!And it feels good!! I was reminded that just before a rocket ship enters space, it can be very bumpy, shakey, rattling, and even red-lining! Then poof, it is quiet, calm, and effortless.......It was a bit like that for us. Yes, I will be honest, there were a few bumps and rattles just days before we left for Peru. This body of ours had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. The day before I we left our homeland, I was comforted the words of Apostle Paul as he says in 2 Corinthians 7:5 - "For when we came into Macedonia, this body of ours had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within."
We must remember Saints, we are always battling...while in the flesh....and in this Earth.....But take good cheer.....We are winning at every turn......Even setbacks, failures, and sin can bring us closer to our God........Now how incredible is that!!! Don't waste your trials....use them for God's Glory!!! And Hang in there!!!! It is always darkest just before dawn!!! If you are going through hell...don't stop.....God is bringing you breakthrough! And when you breakthrough, your trials will seem distant, and smaller than they are right now...The devil has a way to magnify and amplify the lie. As you press on and press in, you enter the rest....Labor to enter the rest....Sometimes it takes just that, a spiritual labor, followed by a spiritual birth, then poof, a new cuddly, snuggly, cooing.....ministry. And on it goes....what an adventure!

So here we are now.....Today we arrived to our wonderful new home!!!! It is surreal at the moment and hard to believe. We are here!!!....in the land that we love, with the people we love. We weren't in the country more than a few hours and we had our first ministry opportunity. A young mother in the market. She litterally "pulled up a chair" and sat and stared, awestruck, as we encouraged her in the Lord. The look in her eyes was a testimony to the Father captivating her by His love. If you have never seen someones eyes captivated by God's love, you should come here right away. It is something to behold, witnessing someone hear the gospel for the first time. The nice thing about this young lady is that she is just a few blocks away at a ghetto market so we will surely continue to visit her and encourage her.

Hands on Ministry

While Jennie was rubbing Juanas tired feet, I was teaching her to read and write. We started with the vowels. She is 36, a widow with 6 small children. They are staying with us in our small apartment. It is a full house!!!! Full of the Holy Spirit! We are hosting Jesus as we care and bless this family. The peace, joy and love is tangible.
We are reminded, we have come to Peru, not to just help the poor, but to raise up leaders. This can only be done through relationship....and lots of it.....Not just filling bellies, but releasing destiny. Rather than being a mile wide and and inch deep, we want to be a mile deep if only an inch wide. The Lord has showed us this is His model...His 12 turned the world upside down. It is all about relationship....Fathering..... And now we see it working. Becaouse...........Now.......
.......Orphans are Praying for the sick!!
We hit the streets with the girls to pray for the sick and share the love of Jesus. As the Father's love has poured into these girls, the love pours out. Below you see Yeni and Santa praying for the sick. Several people were healed instantly~

Little did we know how much fire the girls had for Jesus! We know they love Jesus, but the boldness to pray for the sick astonished us. They would preach too, telling non believers about the love of Jesus and testifying how everyone was worthy of the love of God. Here in country where only 10% are born again believers, these girls had the courage and boldness to share the way the truth and life. Aren't God's ways wonderful...here are 4 orphan girls, who knew nothing about ministry or prayer even 6 months ago, and now they are stepping out in faith, boldness and love. Santa loves the ministry the most, when it was time to leave, she wanted to keep praying!!!

More about the Girls...

These girls our like our own children. We are so privileged to be able to help these 4 girls. Their dad is dead and their mom is litterally, dirt poor, living in a cardboard enclosure with dirt floors. These girls lived in a public orphanage for 5 years, without hope, destitute. Three years ago they were evicted from the orphanage due to funding. A year ago we heard their story, and committed our support to them. (you can see more of this amazing story in the archives of this blog, 2009) We are happy to pour our lives into these girls. We see them as the ones that will bring healing to Peru.

Before we left, we prayed for the girls,
and they were touched. Santa, who was raped at age 11, experienced deep healing. She testified it was incredible. It was powerful as several members of the team came forward and shared how they were abused, and how they knew the pain, and how God had healed them. We praise God that he brings beauty from the ashes and life comes from death. Santa is already a leader...only 14 years old, with compassion beyond belief.

We dropped the girls off with a big load of food, While they used to eat only 1 meal per day....They are now eating lots and eating healthy. Thank you to all of you who give to this ministry....you are making a difference in Peru. God bless you!!
