Graduation!!!!

Here is the begginning of a vision the Lord has given us to break the cycle of poverty. These women make about 2 to 4 dollars per day, not enough to feed their children. Now they can make enough to feed their families. We look forward to this ongoing ministry in Carabyo Peru.

We had a whirlwind trip after the handicraft school and ministered in 3 cities with the Refuge Church team. Here is the Refuge Report

Big Last Day of Ministry In Chimbote We packed it in the last day of our ministry together. In the morning one team went to a mountain community to do an outreach. Over 500 people showed up. We were over-whelmed (picture above) Another team went early in the morning to the fish market doing street evangelism. Many came to the Lord for the first time. Many received healing for infirmities. Another team went to a local prison to minister to inmates. We ordained over 20 men as evangelists in the prison. Then we had a late night church service. We prayed over many as the Spirit moved in passion through the people. I really got the sense that it was the Lord just ministering to his people and we just got to observe. The team was really blessed in all the Lord did in us and through us. It was nothing about our capabilities but more about our availability. I really feel if the Lord gives you a heart to go, that you should just step out in faith and plan to go, and see what the Lord will do. If we wait until everything is right to go, you may never go. We get on the bus for Lima this morning. There we will have a last meal together then we will slowly disperse.
We gave out a 1000 toys, and 1000 meals, and 1000 cups of juice.
It was a great time of ministry. We had clowns a worship band and fireworks. We were able to share the gospel and pray for many again. This was one of our biggest events. . We were on the local christian radio station yesterday afternoon. Jordan, David, Kyle, Larry and his boys and I all shared for about half an hour. Afterwards our car broke down and we had to wait for repairs. Coming up the street was a fruit cart with a loud speaker. Jordan bought all the fruit and used the cart for about an hour and a half. We preached the gospel and passed out free fruit and prayed for people for about two blocks. Many people got ministered to. I'm sure they thought we were crazy. One man cried as we prayed for him and received improved sight. He was almost totally blind. Others were moved to tears as we prayed for them. One girl gave her heart to Jesus. She told us that she had no relationship with God before. I pray that the Lord will continue to give us these types of opportunities in Homer.
.We spent time with the kids from the orphanage last night. Took them out to dinner. it was a good time. There was one new teen-ager that came to the orphanage recently. I could tell she was really hurt. I asked Carmen (one of our interpreters) to have some of our girls minister to her. It was not long before they were leading her in a prayer of salvation. Paula, RJ and Helanie are our "Power Girls". Many tears, but much joy. It has been a joy to see each team member open up in new ways to the Lord. I have heard many good reports. I have heard a couple times from one of our more skeptic members, "this is the best, this is why I came". Each day seems to un-veil a new type of ministry. As we were driving to Huacho yesterday. I was praising the Lord for the range of ministry He has given us down here:Feeding the PoorBreaking the cycle of poverty with our co-op (new just this year)Ministering to OrphansBuilding housesCrusade style family festivalsMinistering to churchesStreet EvangelismBuilding team relationshipRaising up new christian leaders here and at home. The list (believe me) could go on.All this in a two week period! Wow!Think about joining us this next year.

The Lord opened up a great time of ministry for two hours today. The kids started playing music, Jordan preached on a portable P.A. system. We had at least 100 people or more come by for ministry. It was like an open air church service. My mind starts running wild as a minister. Rarely do I see opportunities like this as a pastor. It seems like the possibilities for the kingdom here would be endless. It would seem easy to plant a church here. Hmm.... Jordan was really sensitive to where the people were at. They were not immediately open to ministry. They really just wanted us to spend time with us and listen to preaching and teaching for awhile. Jordan and the team got to get a lot of preaching out of their system. After we taught them for awhile they began to open up for personal ministry. Wow! Many came to the Lord. And many were healed. One man was instantly healed from an accident that had left him with hearing loss, and nobody even prayed for him. Many were prayed for and many got instant relief from their infirmities. Another incredible day of ministry in Peru. Glory to God!

We built three houses (prefabricated) in Comas then had a feeding with a clown, Barney and Mini-mouse, along with a fireworks show. It was wonderful.I also saw for the first time what Jordan has been working on with the weavers from the mountains, training mothers from Comas. I was quite overwhelmed to see what was involved along with the beauty of what they were doing. It will be further life changing experiences for this community. I really can see that what Wilma is doing in this area along with our help could very well transform the city of Comas. Pictures to

MORE TO COME SOON
Bless you all!

Back To Peru!!! 2009

We have been back in Peru for a week now and have been busy with our training school.
The 5 day school is for poor women who live in desperate poverty. They live in cardboard houses with dirt floor. The shacks they live in are the size of an average bedroom and they may have one or two lights. These women survive on between 2 and 5 dollars per day. They have nothing, and thier children have even less. No health care, no transportation, no running water, no telephone, no sidewalks, no parks, no playground, no library, and worst of all, not enough food. This training will allow the women to make up to 10 dollars a day now, giving them and thier children a hope. One of the students is illerate and was overwellmed at times because of Gods goodness .

These are the poorest of the poor we hear about. We have been coming to this community for 4 years. Over the years, we have fed over 2,000 people in this community of Sol Naciente (sun rise). This year we brought something better than food, we brought our first vocational training school, a week of intensive training. 12 women attended, over 40 hours of teaching. We brought 4 master weavers to teach them how to weave on the loom, and we brought 4 looms for the group. On the looms they can create purses, tapestries, placemats, hand bags, and eventually, blankets and rugs. The women learned embroidery as well which adds elegence to the pieces.

They also learned how to make hand made paper...stationary, gift cards,

I could go on and on but I am tired right now after a week long blitz. I have had a bad fever for 2 days and need prayer. We celebrate even in the midst of this for all that God has done. More to come....
